Night's Illusion

by Lyra   Apr 18, 2005

All the day has faded now
As the stars climb into a blanket of sequined infinity
All the screaming, buzzing of noon
has faded to whispers of midnight
Catcalls of shadows and the comfort of orchids
And I'm left alone by the weeping pool
It's interesting, the way night can turn dark red to crimson kissed ink
Blood to velvet
Tears to diamonds
Pain to a haunted melody
Can you hear me?
I'm beyond the lonliness of harsh light
I'm wrapped in your absence
and I'm content
For once, if only for this moment
