My Fake Mask...

I put on this fake mask
To hide you from this pain
But now it wont come off
And I'm the only one to blame

For if this mask did come off
The pain is what youd find
And then Id have to tell you
About this messed up life of mine

Whenever I'm around you
I smile and act okay
For this mask protects me
From the things I dare not say

You just don't need to see
How hurt I am inside
And this mask helps me to hide
The endless tears Ive cried

This mask is the new me
For it knows nothing but to smile
And it gives the false impression
That this life is so worthwhile

And if I feel like dying
The smile still appears
And no one will see the fact
That I have so many fears

And please do not get mad
For this is for the best
Cause now everyone will think
I'm not sad like all the rest
