Behind Closed Doors *long*

Eat real fast (daddy's coming)
Clean the dishes (daddy's coming)
Hurry and scrub the floor
Up to your room (daddy's coming)
Make the room spotless (daddy's coming)
Pretend to be asleep
(daddy's here)

Ignore the shattered glass
Block out the screams of pain
Forgive his hurtful words
or face daddy's wrath again

Walk bravely downstairs tomorrow
Imagine last night was fake
Do not do anything wrong
Prepare for what lies ahead

Eat real fast (daddy's coming)
Clean the dishes (daddy's coming)
Hurry and scrub the floor
Up to your room (daddy's coming)
Make the room spotless (daddy's coming)
Pretend to be asleep
(daddy's here)

Lift your tear-stained face
Forget all that he did yell
Cover up your bruises
-hide them good and well

Ignore every stare
all questions and rumors
Sit there in your chair
and do not make a sound

Eat real fast (daddy's coming)
Clean the dishes (daddy's coming)
Hurry and scrub the floor
Up to your room (daddy's coming)
Make the room spotless (daddy's coming)
Pretend to be asleep
(daddy's here)

Walk quickly home from school
-You must not be late
Be daddy's perfect little girl
-or meet a worser fate

Turn onto the driveway
bravely go into the house
Close the door behind you
knowing one day you will not come out

Eat real fast (daddy's coming)
Clean the dishes (daddy's coming)
Hurry and scrub the floor
Up to your room (daddy's coming)
Make the room spotless (daddy's coming)
Pretend to be asleep
(daddy's here)
