I hear the call of duty,
Feel it reverberate throughout
My entire being,
And I do not take it lightly.
For I am very much aware
Or the influence I already wield
Amongst my peers and friends.
I know that many younger children
Look up to me,
See me as a role model,
And that is a responsibility
I deem most grave.
And even though I often
Don't even understand
The respect so many hold me in,
I feel obligated to fulfill their hopes
And meet their expectations,
Because I know that God
Has called me to be a man
In a land of children
And who am I to say No?
