*Part 1 of You and I*

by little birdy   Apr 19, 2005

I met you while standing in the sea
And I remember the look you took at me
The perfect reflection of you in the sand
My looks of confusion while I slowly stand

Confused if you want to see and know
Who I am, though expressions didn’t show
So it took me a minute to figure you out
And a moment to see what you are about

The same day I saw you, during the night
We walked through the sand, under the light
You were looking for me, I was looking for you
Then we found each other, but nothing to do

The same night you walked me almost to the door
Then my father saw us alone, so came more
I got in so much trouble, but it’s all okay
Because with you I spent the night away

I almost couldn’t see you the next day again
But my dad came around when I quickly began
To tell him you were only being sweet
And I said I could walk on my own two feet

The next day we met you and your brothers
I somehow lost all my longing bothers
I knew that day that you and I would last
Even though this will all come through the past

Then I looked within your royal blue eyes
And it took me a few moments to realize
That you liked me and wanted to spend your time
It’s like the moment was all a perfect, fine rhyme

The day after that you and I met again
And my day would finally, slowly begin
We spend our time laughing about many things
And I started to worry about our later endings

We were out in the sea when you gave your confession
You liked me for real, came to me as an obsession
So I gave the poem that I started to write
And I hoped that you would see my burning light

That night after you left me with your “good-bye”
I went to sleep with my wonders of “why?”
Why it was me that you would not compare
And why it was me, for whom you would care

On the forth day I finished the poem for you
And had all intentions for giving it too
After I asked what you honestly thought
You gave me a hug that could never be bought

Although the one that you read was not yet done
So I gave you the final copy, yet it got outdone
You wrote me a letter with amazing words said
Then so many thoughts came throughout my head

“I love you” were the words inside my mind
And every other memory was quickly left behind
You were all that I thought of that whole day
And I would just listen with nothing to say

“I’ve never felt so unbelievably happy before
Because I probably love you more
I love how your face glows in the sun
And I wish that this week will never be done

“I love it how your smiling never stops
Or even how your neck and back pops
How when the heat from your back went up my arm
Tingled and filtered through me like a wondrous charm

“I look forward for the days we’ll spend together
And still I hope they’ll last forever
They say love is death, but that’s not always true
Because I don’t think I’ll ever again meet
A girl as sweet or as great as you”

Those were the words that you wrote to me
They all quickly made me come to see
That I feel in love with you way too fast
But I wish that this moment would forever last
