There he knelt, with broken wings, Blood dripping from his chest, A sign of a life that’s lost, To life’s long gruelling test. No longer is he glowing white, His blood now runs dark grey, From his eye flow blackened tears, For now his child, he now will slay. For a guardian angel, A life that is lost, Means he will loose his, That’s what it’ll cost. He looks up to heaven, That’s where he’ll go, With his guarded children, More they shall grow. From their blooded bodies, He pulls out their soul, With the gentlest of hands, He’ll make them whole. So innocent so pure, They follow him blindly, Trusting his touch, Trusting his eyes, so kindly,Watching them so long, He is one of us, Death has brought him down, Yet he shows no distress. His job is now done, Now he can rest, Knowing they are safe, With god they are blessed.
