Drifting

by Michael Mantione   Apr 19, 2005

Drifting so far away....
people acting as if every things ok
slowly fading bit by bit
in this world i was never a perfect fit
the shadows consume me
but shortly i will be set free
so i drift into the darkness
now nobody can see my stress.
now the people will soon forget
and yet i have not a single regret
drifting out of sight and out of mind
trying to remember me was so kind
but in the end it was pointless
because all i want to do is end the endless
so i drift and will soon be gone
can you hear it now an angels song
and now all i can say is good bye
with one last sigh.

"but in the end it was pointless
because all i want to do is end the endless
it will soon be the end and i will be gone
can you hear it now an angels song
and now all i can say is good bye
and to end it all now its time for me to die." in just those coupleof lines you used the word end about five times. it was a good poem an had a good flow but once it got to that repeated word so many times it took away from the poem. there are many words to chose from that mean the same thing like ... discontineu, postpone, conclude, terminate, expire, cease, desist, depart, completion, fullfillment, and so on. those are just aa few from the thesaurus i thought might be helpful. other then that the poem was great! i love the lne "can you hear it now an angel's song" lovely job just take into consideration about the end words..
