To tell you the truth I had lost all faith in friends
because I just kept getting hurt, getting scars that wouldn’t mend
But then came a girl, an answer to my prayers
She was the first friend I\'ve found, that really seemed to care
She loves me for who I am, and not who I could be
She loves me for my heart, she loves me for me
She is the reason you are reading this poem
Cause without her, this talent would have remained unknown
She gives me that courage to be myself
To share what I have with everyone else
She is my second change, for friends like her are few
What we have is rare; we are a special two
No one in this whole wide world could touch the feelings that we share
To the seconds that I spend with her, nothing can compare
Jess you have given me all you had to give
And in doing so you have taught me how to live
But because tomorrow is no promise, and there is no certainty of today
