Whisper of the Cemetary

by Ariah Kaltesh   Apr 20, 2005

A Haunting song that whispers in the night
It'll send chills up your spine
The ghostly tune that'll fill you with fright
And an eerie light that'll shine

Light from the full moon filters through the trees
The tombstones a pearly white
There's one in particular that you came to see
Even though it's the dead of night

The wind blows and you wrap your coat around you
Those creepy notes float on the breeze
Your friends warned against it but you know what you have to do
And you ignore the rustling leaves

All your senses scream "Turn back while you still can!"
Some things are better unknown
But you don't believe their stories; you think it's all a scam
And that'll be what brings you down

You overheard what couldn't be true
But now you see that it is
For the name that's engraved on the tombstone is you
And, horrified, you know what you missed

You had never made it out of the accident
The knowledge hadn't entered your head
But now the cemetary is where you're a resident
The haunting song singing that you're dead.
