The Human Shadow

Rush through the darkness,
Burrow through the shadows,
You cannot escape it,
You cannot perceive it.
The light is not but a hand away,
But the shadow grips your heart tightly,
You try to run,
You try to hide,
But it will not cease to exist.
It will take over,
It will own all,
It shall rule over you and all,
You cannot escape it,
It is within,
For human perfection is never to win.
