The Golden Glow of Childhood

by Fig   Apr 21, 2005

Down the sloping garden
The small child rolls
Bouncy blond hair shining in the golden light
Tiny hands and feet with floppy socks
Riding his small wooden tricycle
Fire engine
Pirate ship
Sailing down the sea of green
The tiny knight in Armour
The mighty sword in his hand
A small and grubby twig
Creatures from the deep, roam
In the grassy ocean
Monsters and eels
Silver and blue
The golden glow of childhood
Still blossoming in his head
