Comes the Night

by Danielle   Apr 21, 2005

The sun is fading and the tears have begun
the beauty of the day drifts away
and we're falling to our knees as the hour is upon us

your crying eyes burn in our minds
begging forth to be found
innocence seeps away. . .no longer young are you

night settles in, hiding away it's horrors
as dreams caress our sleep
laughing you may be. . .but in the moonlight, you're drifting away

a whispered promise blows in the wind -- "You shall not be alone."
Wrapping it's arms around your fading soul
as tender lips kiss one final time

a gentle rain begins to fall
washing away the torment in your eyes
as a single pray fills the night sky. . .

"You shall not be forgotten."
