Trails of Happy Tears

by elise   Apr 21, 2005

The wind twirled behind my back,
and hurried me along,
and so I followed, having no choice,
sining upon the melody of its song.

So many times they tried,
to bring me down today,
but each time they tried and failed,
I hurried along my way.

I whispered within the ear of a mouse,
and heard its saddened glory,
I talked to a heron on the water's edge,
and again I heard its story.

After I ran along a waterfall,
behind its water wall,
I spoke to gain happiness of a friend,
and there was no answer at all.

Every time I tried to find,
my happiness in somone else,
and one day I finally realized,
my joy is done by self.

I told myself I was happy,
and that there was no need to ever cry,
and now I find myself singing on the wind,
and this is sadly why.
