Grades

by eternal rest   Apr 22, 2005

You ask me how my grades are
“Two A’s, two B’s and two C’s”
Looking at me with ashamed eyes
Telling me that I will regret
Not doing better in school
You act like I’m not trying.
Like there’s nothing else going on in my life
That I’m all about school
Guess what, mom
That’s not me.
If you want me to have better grades
Then you do it.
I can’t believe you give me this crap
And you always say
You remember what its like to be my age
When really, I don’t think you do.

I am trying
I am doing well
Why can’t you just understand that?
Be satisfied
Just once.

*im sure weve all had the grades talk...*
