Knife

She looked at the knife / that would soon claim her life
not many knew why / but she wanted to die
suicide was her choice / instead of using her voice
many wonder why she chose this path / because she was always the one to laugh
she didn't want to cause her family any pain / but her pain was too much pain
she hid her upside down smiles so often / that she often felt forgotten
nobody asked what was wrong with her / because they didn't want to hear the truth from her
too many tears she has shed / too much of her blood has been bled
she could still hear her silent screams / she felt like she was being ripped apart at the seams
too many cuts to hide / too many bruises to hide
too depressed for words to express / she never did anything she could confess
too much pain / and not enough love to gain
the hurt was too much / and now she's cold to the touch
