Volcanic...

by katie!   Apr 22, 2005

Mother nature sits there on her throne
As she prepares for her revenge on earth and life
A volcanic eruption, from the depths of the planet
Avenging all the problems, all the human caused strife

A quiet part of a city, so far away
Disaster imminent, from the hill shrouded in fear
As mother nature she sits in the background waiting
For the perfect moment to release the fiery tears

Inactive volcano silent for such a long time
Soon to be remembered for all eternity
As the hot flowing lava, like an ocean of agony
Screams in and around, where the world cannot see

Pushed up wards tremendously, surge through the summit
As a plume of smoke billows into the night sky
Silence echoes, ringing through the ears of the people
Broken by a harsh and terrified cry

Panic takes over, as people riot in the streets
Charging over one another for an escape, to live
As the ash begins its speedy descent down the mountain
Mother natures final blow she does give

The least famed part of this deadly beast
Churns out of its fiery stomach, in huge plumes
Pyroclastic flow, burning and rushing to wards them
Destroying the flowers, sweeping them up, wilted blooms

Searing energy, and heat, blasting away all surroundings
Life snuffed out in an instant, so quickly done
Mother nature sits back, watching from the wings
Staring at the barren land her revenge has won

Interesting poem....the rhyming took a lot away, though.
