Dear Mother, Are you Real?

by EpithetPoet   Apr 22, 2005

A figure on a wall
The pious mother of God
Are you real dear mother?
Or another man made fraud?

Will you cure me of my ails?
Forgive me of my sins?
Train the sun to warm my face
As everday of life begins?

Do you hear my prayers?
Echoed past your grim walls?
Do you feel the pain i do
Underneath the sea of shawls?

Will you stay dear mother?
To wash away our fears?
Or disappear from all view
Washed away in our tears

Are you even real dear mother?
Have you the faith we need?
Or with all your pious fans
Slowly drift away and recede?

With all the faith put in you
To cure every whim and ail
How can you cope with the pressure
That you might just fail?

They believe in you dear mother
While i may not say the same
Let them profess their faith to you
Be you saint or common stain

*This is about that "stain" that supposedly looks like the Virgin Mary. i personally dont think so, it's just interesting that people still put so much faith into a salt stain in some alleyway*
