When you say that your past was bad.
I just look at you and say hey, mine was too.
But then you say that mine was, but yours was still the worse.
I understand what you're saying.
But then all my memories of the past come back to me.
And haunt my mind, haunt my life once more.
You don't understand what I went through.
How much it hurts me and scarred my life.
I was only six, but I still remember.
All the pain and hurt that went through my mind.
You don't understand how scared I was to say something to anyone.
Or how I was scared to go back.
You don't understand how much it hurt me.
You just don't understand.
I was always scared to go back to see him.
I didn't know what he was going to do next.
Was he going to hit me?
Was he going to kidnap me in the middle of the night?
Was he ever going to stop?
Did he understand how I felt?
No, because he didn't care how it made me feel.
You don't understand what I went through.
How much it hurts me and scarred my life.
I was only six, but I still remember.
All the pain and hurt that went through my mind.
You don't understand how scared I was to say something to anyone.
Or how I was scared to go back.
You don't understand how much it hurt me.
You just don't understand.
But now I go back to those memories.
I remember how scared I was and I just say, that can't be me.
Because now I'm not that little girl.
I'm happy and learned how to forget everything.
And yes it's because of you.
You picked me up and held on.
You never let go.
You've stuck by me and you love me for who I am.
You don't put me down, you help me through.
But you still don't understand.
