My Angel of Mercy

A razor blade presses against my wrist,
Will I be able to do it tonight?
Draw it though my flesh, slicing through me veins?
Each drop of blood expelling my suffering.

I take in a slow breath, exhaling even slower,
A tear starts its journey from my eye,
Travelling down my face and over my bare chest,
Bouncing once on the carpet, later soaking into it.

Then I hear your voice, my Angel of Mercy,
“You promised me, baby, you promised me.”
Serene and pure you stand before me,
Tears of crimson rolling down your cheeks.

The blade glistens in you radiant beauty,
As it spirals to the ground, out of my reach,
“I’m so sorry darling, I let you down again.”
You swoop down, taking me into your arms.

Then you are gone, I look around for you,
Finding a message from you on my monitor,
“Just remember, you promised me.”
