Flower of the innocent!

by kayla   Apr 23, 2005

The flower of the innocent
Is gorgeous while it lasts
Elegant and beautiful
It’s a vast contrast.

The flower is influenced
Affected by surroundings
The suns too bright
So it withers away
Out of sight.

Too long it has wallowed
Too long in the depths
Now the innocence is leaving
Another victim of early death

It was weakened
Vulnerable and bare
And now it’s just another one
In a life that’s so unfair

Life consumes the innocent
And laughs in our face
Leaves us with beings that are empty
And out of place.
