No Hope

by Lost Girl   Apr 24, 2005

No hope of a life, where I smile for real every day
No hope of an answer to all the things you say
No wish for an escape from the dark side of my soul
No wish for any emotion to fill this blackened hole

No hope of a love like in the movies, so true and real
No hope of a memory of the way I used to feel
No anticipation of tomorrow and the joys that will await
No anticipation of the next day, as that will be too late

No hope of seeing clearly, now that my world is numb
No hope of finding freedom, a life no longer fun
No memories of laughter, all scorched with amber flames
No memories of childhood and little childish games

No hope of rescue from self inflicted injuries
No hope of finding myself in the places no one sees
No kind of optimism is left in my life any more
No kind of recovery can happen when there is no cure

No hope of salvation from the path I chose to take
No hope of redemption from my bitter life so fake
No dreams of the future or what my path holds ahead
No dreams of a fresh start, as tomorrow I’ll be dead

there are always dreams and hope, even if it's for the smallest things, they don't have to be big things to matter. keep moving forward. great poem!
