I went by our tree yesterday
set down by it and wept.
the memories all came flooding back, The very thing I've been tying to forget.
I play back in my mind all the love and the pain. I remember, once, watching the sunset You told me we would never be apart. How was I to know that all you said was meant to break my heart?
I thought it over.
Maybe I should have just bade you goodbye. If we're not be, no matter how hard we try,
Nothing will ever go our way.
I glance back at our tree.
slowly, the words we carved seem to fade.
this hurt I feel now won't disappear overnight.
But with time I will soon forget.
So Even thought the hurting isn't over,
I won't wish for the past.
Now I realize we weren't meant to be,
So I thank you for setting me free.
