You can't hide

by jenni   Apr 24, 2005

I never thought I'd recover
Didn't know how to get through
Were my survival skills good enough
Would I ever get over you.

I never knew the answers
Until you and I were no more
Now I know I'm strong enough
I don't need you to soar.

I am able to live alone
And be strong for the baby inside
And although you've run away
You know you can never hide.

You have a baby too you know
No matter how much you wish it dead
So whilst I am able to face up to life
Your wishing you were someone else instead.

Instead of the coward you are
The boy who thinks he's a man
Until he has manly decisions
And then lookwhat he did, He ran.

So if you ever want to see the child
Fair enough you are the dad
But if you don't and it wants you
Then poor child, what can I say too bad.
