They won't Leave me Alone

by Marina   Apr 24, 2005

I said I was afraid of the dark,
you said it was fine, but then the dogs began to bark.

You told me I would make it through the night,
at my toe I felt a bite.

I saw a clown with glowing red eyes,
I closed my eye's and tried to imagine clear blue skies.

I heard the clown get closer and grab my hand,
I tried to think of a beautiful Land.

When I woke up and found a bruise,
you said it was a strange excuse.

Next night I had a night light,
the clowns where there but they did not grab or bite.

*****
My sister closed her eyes in the dark,
and then the dogs began to bark.

She saw a clown with glowing red eyes,
She shut her eyes and began to see,
The exact same thing that happened to me.
