Song of a life

by Casval   Apr 25, 2005

Man's life from of old has rarely reached seventy;
Take away the early childhood years and the late years of old age;
Between these, a man's time is not long.

And even so there is heat and frost, trouble and vexation.

Once past mid-autumn the moon is less bright;
Once past April the flowers are less beautiful.
