Bright and happy
Young and innocent
Never worried about the world
Just enjoying life's sweet scent
But that girl's dead and gone
Died one February day
Replaced by this cold-hearted soul
Every trace of youth swept away
That girl was happy
Always smiling like there’s no tomorrow
She never knew there soon wouldn’t be
That her smile would be filled with sorrow
If you looked into the eyes
Of that girl so long ago
You’d see summer and sunshine
Like that you’d never know
But look at her eyes now
If you can stand the pain that long
You’ll see that little girl’s prison
You’ll see she’s trapped and isn’t strong
That girl was never scared of the world
Because she was too stupid to know
That some people don’t enjoy their life
That some people just wish they could go
But now that girl feels this pain
And wishes she could go back
Go back to the days where she knew where she was going
Where she was always following God’s track
But there’s no going back
Because that girl grew up to be me
I just wish she could come back
So she could set me free
