Last kiss

by stephalee   Apr 25, 2005

He told her he loved her and he’d call her
As he kissed her on the cheek
But the phone didn’t ring
Not once that week

Where did he go
Where could he be?
Why is he making her suffer?
Such a tragedy

Months went by
Still no word
This was taking forever
This was so absurd!

Finally she had enough
And called him herself
She slammed down the phone
And ripped off her shelf

She went on a rampage
All through the house
Until it was dead silent
Quite as a mouse

He died that night
A car accident sought his doom
She sat and she cried
In a room filled with gloom

She was the last person to speak with him that night
All she could do was she cried
She gave him his very last kiss
Right before he died
