No, seriously.

by kiley   Apr 26, 2005

Jokes are great, until it's time to be serious.
no one knows you are who you are
your outside humor shines through
so why can't your inner sincerity?
why can't they see, you want to be part of intelligent conversation
that matters, even if only to them, it will touch me ,too.
on the outside the comedian is seen, but on the inside,
the wisdom of topics yet to be overturned, yearns to break free
and escape through my mouth. the only tears seen being tears of laughter

talks.
that's all I want, serious talks to show that I too am as important as they.
to prove that I too am capable of having a serious conversation.
until the day comes when this fantasy becomes reality
I will let my words out as tears.
tears unseen, unheard of.
until that day.

Then, and only then, will they see the seriousness of the tears.
