My Shiny Friend

My whole world is falling,
And leaving me behind,
I no longer have anything,
To help me unwind.

It started out with him,
Leaving me feel blue,
He left my heart broken,
And without a clue.

Then I moved on,
But soon lost track of school,
This whole other side of me,
Knew this wasn't cool.

My friends eventually all left,
And that was the end,
I'd have to find myself,
Some other new friend.

I found that friend,
In an unlikely place,
You won't believe where it was,
It resided in a kitchen case.

There was a shiny object,
The only good thing in my life,
This bright shiny toy,
Was my new friend the knife.

It took only took one cut,
To make me feel all new,
Watching the blood pour down,
Was keeping me through.

I only did it once,
But soon craved for more,
My knife started slashing me,
Two, three, then even four.

My wrists were sore with blood,
But my pain was still not gone,
I had to get long sleeved shirts,
The new fashion I had to don.

Everyone looked right through,
They never saw my pain,
Soon my shiny friend will take over,
Leaving me insane.
