So different

by Lost Girl   Apr 27, 2005

You smile at me, when all I find is disaster
You see me with eyes so different, so bright
You see the real me, the only one to see her
When I need help you show me the light

But you see me with eyes so different
And they never tell you the truth about me
They are rose tinted, never show the cracks
The seams, all the things other people see

They show you that I am beautiful, not ugly
They show you that I am happy and cared for
They tell you so many lies, twisted truths
But I can’t let you look through them anymore

You eyes, so different from mine, deceive you
They lie, show you me in a different way
I wonder is it you who is wrong? Or is it me?
Because I find I hate myself more every day…

great poem, shows how people see things differently, even when we don't understand what they are thinking.
