These Cruel Waters

by Eden   Apr 27, 2005

Hear the diamond river flow.
Feel the change in nature's show.
Crystal lake divine so near
So deep, it is so clear.
Hear the groans of dead men living
See the shadow's smooth deceiving.
I see faces in the waters
The air is empty of laughter.
My loved one lies so cold and wet.
I move as close as I dare get.
These forbidding waters choose,
But my life I don't want to lose.
Touch the shimmering surface so nice...
Eerie, my vacant eyes are ice.
I saw death among these reeds
And feel its surreptitious needs.
This lake of old; it has a name...
A name so bold I would not claim...
Duriel is the name christened...
Said the wind as I silently listened.

It holds my love and keeps him free...
Away from truly loving me.
I am there for him, I know...
But I'm here as far as I can go.
I cannot last these waters long
The current violent, swift and strong.
Harsh words from a skillful tongue
To my heart and soul so young.
When will my love cease to die?
Why am I hear just wondering why?
Can I not see that time will not heal
What once was there, now cold as steal?
"I love you...I love you. I promise I do."
But waters say differently. Prove it, would you?!

I watch now as waters sweep you away...
The sun will never make another day.
It has forever set upon my soul...
For with out love, a darkened coal.
Once your love was sweet and fair...
Now your eyes are cold...it's not there.
You hurt my heart so, without knowing...
As if this knowledge you hide from showing.
Can you hear it in my voice?!
This is not by my choice!!!
