Carnival of Mixed Emotions

It hurt me bad when I was told,
Those words hit me so hard and cold,
at first it felt like it couldn't be real,
A few moments later I began to feel,
Its really over and your no longer mine,
Where did I go wrong and cross the line,
Our whole three days of being together,
Was broken by three minutes that lasted forever,

How ironic was it when the sky brought forth rain,
I think God sent it when he felt your pain,
To bring me on that ride and break me down,
How did you do it with no hint of a frown,
You smiled and said, "can I just be your friend,"
Thats how the "us" came to an end.

The ride had just ended and so did the rain,
But it didn't stop there you just increased the pain,
You told me to go one way and you the other,
That way we wouldn't run into one another,
You told our friends and they sympathized,
But nothing could hold back the tears we both cried.

The next day at school you wanted to talk,
I was still mad and only wanted to walk,
But I stayed and listened then you started to cry,
I said I was okay but inside I wanted to die.

The day after that I wrote you a letter,
Trying to see if things would get better,
Inside the not was A Poem for You,
Telling you something I hope you already knew.

I love you and if you need me I'll be there,
I know from experience that life isn't always fair,
Thats why you need someone to care,
I'll be that someone with whom all your troubles you can share.
