Who are you?

by katie!   Apr 27, 2005

Stare into the mirror, do you know what you see?
Can you believe what you want to be is real
Sit wasting away your years, with booze and cigarettes
Have you decided who you are, what you feel

Looking at yourself, do you want to be someone else
As the mirror falls and shatter to the ground
Are you comfortable being a girl, do you want to be a boy
A sanctuary of insanity, where silence is the sound

Do you fancy someone the same sex as you
Fearful of what it means, a life of discrimination and pain
Do you hide away in the dark, with demons of your past
With scars from a time you would like to forget again

Stare upon the face of someone ugly and horrible
They see you as beautiful, kind, frail under the thumb
Broken down by being cold, being hurt all the while
Years of confusion, years of feeling empty and numb

Accept yourself, and then you can learn to love the rest
See yourself through the worlds eyes, you are fine as you are
Accept yourself, gay, straight, bisexual anyway is fine
Be proud when you see yourself, dont hide your scars
