Disappearing Face

by Jacklyn   Apr 27, 2005

Drifting away to sleep,
One place that you join me,
Drifting away in my dream,

Escaping harsh reality,
One place for you and me,
One place we can love peacefully,

One place that birds always sing,
Where the grass is always green,
And trees provide shadows for you and me,

A place my pain can’t travel,
For once it lets me be,
My mask just disappears,

And my heart beats once again,
My smile is real for once,
But slowly things being to fade,

The trees, birds and smile in my dream,
The pain returns and my mask is worn,
As my dream fades away,

And I am awake,
And once again you slip away,
You’re a disappearing face.
