Love & Rhyming, Sorrow & Timing

by Peter Williams   Apr 28, 2005

What lies in my heart?
What lies in yours?
The heavens open up,
As true love soars.
A love that I never had,
Only in a dream.
That first kiss,
I've seen it on the silver screen.
Looking back at myself,
I've seen what I've done.
These feelings bring a happiness,
That is brighter than the sun.
The things I've said,
I don't take them back.
I said "I love you",
And that is a fact.
Could I ever have you?
Could you ever be with me?
Is love blind?
Now it can see.
Why do you talk to me?
Do you like the attention?
Are you using me?
Or is that something I shouldn't even mention?
Have you ever heard a song,
And liked it so?
Are my poems the same?
Or should they have to go?
I don't know......
What about my rhyming?
When I said "I love you",
Was that bad timing?
Is this poem happy?
Or is it sad?
Is it good?
Or really bad?
This is yet another sad attempt......
To get your love.
Is it a push?
Or perhaps maybe a shove?
Love and rhyming,
Sorrow and timing.
