Night walker

Drifting on the breeze, carries you over the waves
Washing up onto the shore over your feet
Slip your shoes on and walk through the night
Silently tiptoe past the houses, then break away

Shadows follow your walk, like a tightrope so careful
Walk along with me, throw your shoes into the water
Let the sand flood between your toes, so bliss
Wonder along, possessed to follow this path

Talking to no one yet everybody all at once
Shifting the pressure away from yourself, offloading
Smile and dance into the rushing waves
I watch you with a smile, so distant, on my face

Break into a run, a race with no spectators
As your hair, dark as night, flies in the rough wind
Laughter and mirth explodes from you, real delight
As you drift like a broken flower, lost and alone...
