Sunrise

by Karl Brondehoff   Apr 29, 2005

A lone bird calls out,
in the morning air.
A single frog chirps,
it's morning prayer.
The dew glistens like a crystal chandalier,
A squirrel stretches his legs,
after waking from his lair.

The clouds pass,
after a night of stormy rain,
the sky blue as a looking glass,
the sun looking to shine again.
The wind blow like a whisper in your ears,
A rabbit nibbles in the garden,
slowly shifting his floppy ears.

Sunrise has come,
the bird cries out,
heaven save me, frog's prayer is done,
the ballroom has ended,
storm's play played alone,
now life begins anew,
much to nature's surprise,
the time has come,
for another sunrise.......
