We've only just began

I can't believe this is happening
it all seems so surreal
you here next to me
these emotions that i feel

i try to be someone else
to keep me in your eyes
but i find that no matter how i try
i can never really hide

this person i try to be
fades further and further away
into a person who actually cares
whether or not you stay

i know we've only just began
and the possibility is slim
but i want you close to me
and fade the memories of him

you know what he's done to me
months of lies and abuse
but your not just a rebound
or someone i could ever use

your someone thats sinked
deep under my skin
causing even more problems
complications within

i don't need anymore pain
too much is going on
i probably shouldn't be with you
even if I've like you so long

so in the poem
my only plea
don't let us fade
into what used to be
