You and Me -2

by Rakesh   Apr 30, 2005

I would still admit that I do love you,
But then I have restrained my emotions.
For I do see that you would never Change
and "getting" you to love me is not what I desire.

Neither I'm that big-hearted ,for in spite of all my devotion,
I cannot proclaim that your glee is all that I yearn,
and that I could stand by satisfied and happy,
as you pass me by,on the road of life, with a man of your choice.

For I'm not one of the connoisseurs of love,
And I don't want to be sacrificed on the altar of unreciprocated love,
for a vain lady who wasn't mature enough to see the real me - my feelings,my love and devotion
and was content that physical charm and financial indulgements are what matter the most.

If you are not mine you might as well be non-existent (for me),
and let me tell you this,I had lit a candle each day,in a long-forgotten corner of a lost room
ever since the day I met you and desired you and fretted for you,I lit one yesterday too,
But now I believe that its time to blow out the candle and lock this room .

And I take this opportunity to appeal to all who have met a similar fate as me,
If shes gone and does not care about you, the faster you understand thats its all gone,
the longer you would survive as a happy individual, for she didn't deserve you,
and no matter what you do she would not come back, she was never yours....
And life's just toooo sweet to be so wasted..

That was really good. I loved the candle part (Hoping you are Indian)- It sort of reminded me of Devdas....
I also feel that it was very realistic--- good advice you've given there..

    Keep writing
