Heavy Guilt...Forever

by shannon   Apr 30, 2005

It had been a long night
But now the morning sun was in sight

You had partied all night long
Thinking if driving home was all that wrong

Then you started to think
"I didn't have much to drink.."

Into your car you stumbled
Putting the keys in, you fumbled

Terribly drunk you were
Not knowing what was soon to occur

Faster and faster you drove along
Making up words to your own weckless song

You swerved in the wrong lane
Not aware of the soon to occur pain

Not paying attention, you went through a red light
Not seeing the on coming car, that was now in sight

You didn't see him until it was to late
What happened that morning, people call fate

But this was not right
He shoud not have had to put up a fight

A fight for his life that he was not going to win
What you did was more then just a little sin

You took his life the morning
Without any type of warning

But you made it threw
I so dearly wish that he lived instead of you

You took the only one that i love
So now my baby is up above

His smile and personality I so dearly miss
I wish i could have had one last kiss

You took him away on the day of our second year together
I hope you feel this heavy guilt forever...

I can see from reading some of your other work taht you like the two line stanza style of poetry. It seems to work well for you, so keep using it!
