Lies

He won my heart,
He held me close.
I thought I was the only one.

And then I learned,
I learned the truth,
About everything he'd done.

He denied it all,
I almost believed.
But the truth he could not hide.
For buried under all his lies,
I came to see the other side.

Three chances he's had,
A girl ruined every one.
Now I don't know what to think or say.
Was he just out for a little fun?

I must be so stupid,
To think that he would change.
Three times he's broken my heart.
Is this all just one big game?

I hoped and I prayed,
Please don't let this be true.
Maybe it's all a dream.
Was he lying when he said "I love you?"

Now I'm sitting here,
remembering the words he said to me.
I don't know whats going to happen.
And even though it's hard as hell,
I will wait and see.
