Worth It

by cheyenne   May 1, 2005

She counts the minutes until he will arrive
She wonders if she'll still be alive
When the yelling and beating have quit
If maybe somehow she'll be able to forget
Forget about the the pain he made her feel
About how her heart was of steel
Cause all she has now of her own property
Is a rag doll given to her from her mommy
She had it hidden from the man
That she had once taken in hand
The man she married, now with regret
Maybe one day it would all be worth it
I guess it was that Sunday night
Cause that was the last time they would ever fight
it was the last time they'd ever yell
The last chance she would get to tell
About what happened in that house everyday
Cause in the ground with an old rag doll in peace is where she lay
