With You

by Izzo   May 2, 2005

Grasshoppers dance away from me,
Their tiny wings beat at the air
And they flutter up from the ground
As I skip through the long summer grasses
With you

I lay back on the bed of green grass
The smell of sweet clover surrounds me
The sun, high in the sky, warms my skin
As I watch the fluffy clouds float by
With you

Sunlight flickers on the cold, clear water
Water splashes passed my legs and hurries on
And I feel tiny pebbles shift under my feet
As I wade in a spring-fed stream
With you

I sit on top of a small hill
And lean against the trunk of a towering tree
Cooler breezes whisper of night’s coming
As I watch the sky turn from blue to black
With you

An owl hoots in a tree somewhere
And the night life moves unseen in the dark
I shiver, but I know that I am safe
As I fall asleep under the twinkling stars
With you
