Metamorphisis

The caterpillar spins her cocoon made from her dreams and hopes
she wishes to emerge beautiful soon
months from now the top breaks open
a butterfly carefully climbs out
seeing the world at a whole new angle
she unfolds her damp sparkling wings
that are shining in the evening dusk
the scent of daises is carried on the gently floating breeze
her two eyes take in life and rearranges things
she is brand new and it feels so good
she gives her wings a try and she soars
across the baby blue sky
suddenly one of her wings breaks
and she falls from the sky with her broken wing; she couldn't fly
couldn't accomplish what she wanted
now all she was a crumpled shimmering heap in the emerald grass
this butterfly wonders if she could have one more chance, as tears squeeze down her face
she stays and licks her wounds.....
ready......
