Why do people choose to drink and drive?

by Cristin   May 2, 2005

The impact was unbearable. As shattered glass went through my eyes. Who knew a simple decision could cause so many cries.

The decision was a big one though but, you didn't think it through. And now my breath is getting shorter and it's all because of you.

I know it wasn't your fault when you stepped into the car. You didn't think it'd be so bad you weren't driving far.

But then you drove too fast and you hit me from behind. And as my car spun off the rode I flew straight out the side.

I rolled into the grass and, landed on a tree. God, the pain hurt so bad as a piece of metal stuck out of my knee.

Then I saw a pair of headlights then a navy blue. It was your car coming toward me as you split me straight in two.

So, why do people do it if they know it ruins lives? Why do people think its cool to choose to drink and drive?
