A Broken Piece

by Amanda Sloan   May 2, 2005

You pick me up, lift me to my feet
You sweep away the dust, breathe life back into me
You speak to me with great intensity, placing my mind where it should be

All at once i can see a new scene
A new picture forming before me

Two moments pass and behold you've disowned me

Throwing me down, leave me with no sound
The lock of the door behind you is all i can hear in the background
And my mind trying to figure how to finish this puzzle with nothing but splinter of the last piece

So many things happened, and I'll i can say... how?
How did this happen, where are you now?

Finally began a new beginning and to soon was its end
How does one's heart ever begin to mend
When every attempt is knocked down, miserable with no demands

Never will there be silence, not another walk around the bend.
Never another kiss, never again will i hold your hand. Never another moment, never again will we cross that land.
Even though i overlooked our love you don't have a reason to do what you've done.
And still you pick me up and throw me in the dust, you haven't forgiven me if you had you wouldn't hold this grudge. You'd be able to hold me without the slightest nudge

Our love has ended, forever as it seems. Never another moment between you and me.

The beginning of my end has started without you now, somehow I'll fit this piece in....someday, somehow.
