Nobody's Immortal

by Mark Coates   May 3, 2005

The girl I tell you about
Does not exist in our world
Yet many like this one
Feels that same pressure build

This girl does not know
The truth of a normal reality
She tries to hide the memories
To make them leave let her be

That girl has anyone heard
About the noises she hears
Does anyone know her anymore
About the hours she fears

The girl I know nothing of
Has on place to go where anyone believes
The truth her cause is real
Now they've lost her still they dont grieve

That girl walks down those streets
The memories and pain so real
She feels someone approaching
Her thoughts flash back she only squeals

That girl lets it all go
She feels those hands beneath her quilt
She thinks its her mind
She knows nothing but believes it's her guilt

This girl all she feels now
Is the pain and danger of the surrounding night She feels so helpless locked in her room Staying awake with all her might

That girl hears those noises
As the door opens her stomach turns
All she thinks is not again
With this she slowly starts to learn

The girl who I feel sorry for
No longer knows how she feels or who to trust As she leaves her home She realizes she needs do what she must

This girl has no more life
She feels and knows it's been taken over
On her bedside table
She places a four-leaf clover

That girl tries to find the answers
As she gets ready for bed
When she leaves her room
She goes downstairs for a knife

The girl left it all behind
Does she even know that she is loved
But her parents didn't know
Yet save her yes they could

That girl I wish I knew
Where she went and how she felt
In her mind no-one knows
How her memories pain and troubles with them she dealt

The girl nobody's immortal
Feels so cold her feelings not hers
She hates herself yet again
Through the help of alcohol the truth she slurs

This girl nobody knew
What made her go away
All she took was knives and drugs
To help her keep her pain at bay

That girl was in a room
All painted and clean
When you walk in that room
You instantly realize she painted it with her blood

The girl I told you about
Does not exist in our world
Not anymore yet once did
She committed suicide to stop the pressure building
