Our Saviour

by GoddessOfWings   May 3, 2005

For many years our bones grew weak
our eyes are sore, we're at our peak.
The lights are dull, our hope still fades,
our hearts are full of black, dead shades.

Our dreams still cursed and spirits jailed,
the prayers we sent have fallen, failed.
The words erased and laughter gone,
we've nothing we can now count on.

Our daughters 'soldiers' for all they bare,
our sons 'angels' for strength they share.
But rumors have it, a boy was born,
a warrior here to save us all.

He'll break the chains around our feet,
he'll introduce a requiem beat.
Someone to finally stop this war,
the winds of pain will blow no more.

For all that's happened and all we've seen,
for all these moments forsaken and been.
A memory revived and carved into stone,
"the strong one, our Saviour, who carried us home."
