In Memory of little Yummy

by Pat   May 3, 2005

We heard those words
But it didn't seem Quite right
Who were they to say
Who was wrong and who was right

Where were they
On that hot and frightful day
Where were they
When the kids were forced to make that choice

Did anyone ever think
Of the pain the kid is feeling
Or did anyone notice the fear in his eyes
When he had to pull the trigger

Instead of sympathy
Instead of support
All the received
Was grief from all

No one ever thinks
Of the fear teenagers face each and everyday
No one ever thinks
That each day may be a child's last

The day a kid like me gets respect
Is the day he lies in a casket
And on that day, The members of the team in red
Will think of how one day it Could be them.
