The Great Depression

Walking around town
Stocks are going great
No one had a frown
Happiness did seem to be our fate
One morning,I recall
Everything was gone
The banks had lost it all
Before we understood what was going on
The money we thought we had
All seemed to disappear
It made people more than just mad
It really was our worst fear
Everyone was unemployed
We had nothing to eat
Our lives were all destroyed
We were lost in defeat
People wrung their neck with cord
Shot themselves in the head
All because they could not afford
A single dried up bread
